"Mr.Mitchell here" I was no longer wanted. Yeah sure, I chewed things up. And I dug holes. And barked a lot. Heck, I was only 8 months old! A friend of mine knew I needed a new home & took me to see Doc. ....... Doc checked me out. My hips move in & out of their sockets; you may have heard of Hip Dysplasia. My eyes hurt so much - remember I kinda did a lot of diggin' and the dirt stuck in my eyelids. I had severe conjunctivitis due to ectropion (baggy and excess eyelid skin). Oh, & I also have allergies to beef and wheat - causing ear inflammation & ear pain. ..... I knew my sad eyes would make an impression so I laid my head on Doc's knee and looked up. Gotcha!!! I had a new home. After eyelid tucks (no botox yet), swimming to build up muscles around my hips, exercises on a therapy ball and a special hypoallergenic diet I'm feeling much better. I also settled down after a few weeks of hard exercise & the encouragement to use my senses and my mind. I don't even chew things up any more. ..... Doc loves to backpack in the Wind River Range. I was named after the mountaineer Finis Mitchell who explored the mountains of "the Winds" in Wyoming. |
